La patagonia en Arentina
The Trochita was born in 1945 as a link between Ingeniero Jacobacci (Black River), where trains arrive from Buenos Aires to Esquel (Chubut). Although at first it was a load line, from 1950 he began to accept transfer passengers who were in Ingeniero Jacobacci to San Antonio Oeste, Viedma, Carmen de Patagones, Bahia Blanca, and finally to Buenos Aires.
The trip between Esquel and Ingeniero Jacobacci lasted 14 hours and its uniqueness lies in the trail (track width) of only 75 cm. It was begun in 1935 with surplus World War I, so the cost was low. Thus, in 1941 La Trochita came to El Maitén and Esquel four years later.
